Hancock African American Heritage Fellowship  (HAAF)

The Hancock Family Foundation is proud to be the founder of the Hancock African American Heritage Fellowship. This program will induct 10 to 15 high school sophomores and juniors each year to participate in an 8-month Fellowship. The Fellowship will consist of a deep immersion in African American (AA) history and field practicums at historic sites and museums. The program will be led by AA history educators, researchers, and experts. The ultimate goal is to build and elevate each Fellow’s understanding and appreciation of AA history, leading them to grow into advocates for truth and increased awareness in their communities, schools, and families. The inaugural Fellowship cohort is scheduled for Spring 2025.
